Those committed to active recreation can enjoy the beauty of Lake Tisza from the saddle of a bicycle.
Since 2020, thanks to the renovation of the connecting section between Tiszafüred and Poroszló and the construction of the cycling bridge, it has become possible to ride all the way around Lake Tisza.
The cycle path is almost entirely asphalted, and with an elevation gain of barely 1 metre it offers a sense of achievement even for beginner cyclists and children.
The so‑called “small loop” around Lake Tisza, at 65–70 km, provides a full‑day excursion.
For the more adventurous, the 95 km “big loop” can be a real challenge.
Cyclists can add variety to their trip with ferries and stops at several points along the way.
The cycle path around Lake Tisza was awarded the title “Cycle Path of the Year” in 2021 and forms part of the international EuroVelo 11 route.
